  • Lower Back Pain and Sciatica: Whether you only feel it deep in the joint or it creates pain down the leg.

  • Muscular & Myofascial Pain: Deep trigger points, stubborn muscle knots, and overuse injuries.

  • Headaches & Tension: We simultaneously treat active pain and underlying deficiency.

  • TMJ Disorder: Or any other kind of jaw pain.  We include intraoral manual therapy inside the mouth on medial and lateral pterygoids trigger points.
  • Sports Injury / Optimization: We want to see you recover and function at the highest level.

Referrals

If your primary reason for seeking acupuncture are any of the following, we would really recommend seeing someone with specialized training/equipment:

  • Allergies: Someone with SAAT training is the best fit.
  • Cosmetic/Dermatology:  Specialized herbal training for dermatology conditions (the skin and the gut are strongly linked) and micro/nanoneedling would render the best results.
  • Fertility: The letters you’re looking for here are ABORM.
  • Massage / Spa: While bodywork can occasionally be incorporated into treatment at ROM and Dr. Freed is a Neuromuscular Massage Therapist, it is more likely to be in the form of intraoral trigger point therapy inside the mouth or iliopsoas relief, not a chill session with scented candles.
Appointment Style(s)

ROM runs a semi-private partitioned staggered appointment structure for standard treatment sessions involving acupuncture.

Initial sessions are fully private due to a potentially long a detailed discussion of private health concerns.

It is possible to book fully private sessions at an increased rate.

Appointment Length

ROM appointments are not a set length.  There are goals for the session that can only be guesstimated*.  Needle retention is no less than 10 minutes, is usually 20 minutes and can be up to 40 minutes depending on the situation in question.

We have tiered appointment types that involve the number of protocols, not the number of minutes.

After an initial treatment, we will determine the appropriate protocol going forward.

*Insurance billing is the exception, they are very focused on time, so when we take on insurance cases, we follow their time guidelines and will communicate clearly with you on your session length.

Billing

Dr. Freed is currently in network for UHC and the VA.  We also bill directly for Motor Vehicle Accidents and Worker's Comp.

We have other insurance types pending.  If you have questions about insurance, feel free to reach out to drfreed@drfreedlac.com or set up a Free Consultation.
